  • About Dan

Dan got his first dog when he was three years old. OK, that was his dad's dog but oh....what a dog....this was the dog who even the kids who were afraid of dogs would come up and play with her. She set the stage.

A decade later he got his own dog. A dog who wouldn't listen to anyone, so he spent time with her until she did. The pattern was set.

Dan's wife learned early in their dating days that if he suddenly stopped listening while they were walking down the street, it was probably because Dan found a dog to pet. Her own standard poodle, Sophie, quickly became what she called "not my dog anymore" and she spent the next seven years "staring at a lot of poodle butt" because Sophie was cued on Dan. Staring at Dan. Adored Dan. Only listened to Dan.

    Sophie loved Dan.

  • Posso coccolare?

In truth, Dan has a problem. He has to pet every dog he sees.
He crosses the street to pet dogs.
This adorable puppy in Chautauqua belonged to a stranger. Did he greet the stranger? Sort of. Not really.
Dan took a trip to Italy and learned just one phrase in Italian before the trip: "Scuse senora, posso coccolare al tuo cane?"
